We are currently recruiting for a skilled Collection Technician to join the Arts Council Collection (ACC) team, on a full time fixed term basis until July 2026.
In this role, you'll be at the heart of caring for our world-class collection, creating packing solutions for 2D and 3D artworks, building frames, and ensuring the safe transport of artworks for loans and exhibitions. Your expertise will also play a key part in our Store Move project and support ongoing conservation efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
Build transit frames for paintings and framed works, and create packing solutions for unframed works on paper.
Assist with the preparation, packing, condition checking, and transportation of artworks.
Contribute to the long-term care and preservation of the collection.
Support health and safety checks, stock management, and routine audits.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience handling artworks and working in a workshop environment, including framing for both paper and paintings.
Familiarity with conservation practices and collections management systems.
A proactive, hands-on approach, with excellent time management and communication skills.
