Date and time: Thu, 16 February 2023, 10:00 – 17:00 GMT
Location: Delia Derbyshire Building / Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Coventry University, Cox Street, Coventry CV1 5PH.
Join us for a day-long symposium exploring the diverse role of the art technician and the changing needs of the arts and cultural sector. This event is open to the people that make it happen, including but not limited to technicians, employers, funders, educators, and policy makers. Topics include future training and development, professional standards and career progression, pay and working conditions. The symposium will hear from a range of speakers to consider the steps needed to address skills and training for technicians across the creative and cultural industries.
This symposium draws to a close the latest iteration of Coventry University’s Art Technician Bootcamp funded by West Midlands Combined Authority. As we come to the end of the programme we want to share with the community what we have done, as well as look at the future of the industry within the region. As a sector, how can we support our institutions and art technicians and make the industry stronger and more sustainable?
Speakers include those who were involved in the delivery of the programme alongside those who are looking to the future of the industry. Coventry University invites you to come and spend a day celebrating our industry and the careers of those who make it happen.
Please register your name and contact details to reserve a place. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the organisers – email craig.ashley@coventry.ac.uk
The full agenda will be shared once speakers are confirmed.
